Into every life a little sour must fall!

Hello everyone! I am visiting Aunt Sarah while Jimmy is staying solo at Camp Grandma!
I am sure that there is plenty of horsing aroung going on out there!

Before we left for Helena, We all drove out to St.Labre for a picnic. Grampa helped Jimmy pick some crabapples. Right off the tree!

"Well now that I have it, what am I supposed to do with it? Play? Eat? Stuff it down the back of Mommy's shirt?"

"Guess I'll try eating it!"

"Ewwww...sour!"

I was not suprised that Jimmy didn't like crabapples. Although he does like sour things. He seems to enjoy sharing my lemonade if I offer it to him or not.. He also likes...

PICKLES!

The first bite is always a shock, but the rest of the pickle is a good thing (Martha), especially on a long road trip!

That is about all the news that's fit to print at this time, I will be back at Grandma Camp on Tuesday and will update everyone a bit more at that time!
Hope you all are doing well!

New things!

Jimmy has done a few new things while we are here on the prairie!
Before we left Jeff and I decided that Jimmy had officially said his first true word! And true to Jimmy's form it was "GO"! Since we have been at Camp Grandma, he has added Co-o-o-old when eating ice cream or splashing in his pool, do - g (dog- 2 syllables!) and bark. He's working on car and up.

We have also been busy spotting all the bears in this house (they're all over) and feeding the horses!

We also have a new tooth! A molar has cut through, and the other three are not far behind!Tommorrow we go to Miles City and then out to St. Labre for a picnic

A sample of pictures so far!

I am having some difficulty uploading pictures!
Here are a few of the pictures I was able to get going!
More coming soon!

Painting at our last playgroup!

It HAILED the second night we were here!

We Love and Miss you Daddy!

A nice day in the zoo

This last Sunday, we took Jimmy to the zoo! Again!
What a cool baby and happy Daddy!

There was much fun to be had playing in the park inside... forget the animals, there's a tree to play peek a boo behind!

I just love his crooked little grin!

And then there was the train! Jimmy is currently obsessed with the locomotive! Thomas is a beloved family member and any video that has a train on it is viewed happily over and over and over again. The Zoo train comes by every fifteen minutes or so and the conductor will toot and wave at anyone that waves back.
Jimmy loved this!

Look! Here it comes! Point and wave!

And there goes the train!

The other really fun thing in the zoo was the flock of really brave birds! Jimmy chased them round and round! The video is cute! Watch as he stops in the middle to wave to Mommy, but the urge to chase birds is so strong it appears to pull him forward by the navel!

We did have fun in the keiki zoo patting the goats and we were lucky enough to be there right at feeding time. All the animals were happy and making lots of noise! Especially the howler monkeys!

This may be the last post for a while... We have one week until we leave the island, and I am not sure how well I will be able to post at Camp Grandma!
Take care, but keep checking!

A Lark in the Park

I took this picture a few weeks ago after noting that the cat was staring at apparently nothing for a solid 30 minutes...
I found out not to long after exactly what she was staring at... I moved the toy to vaccuum and a big fat cockraoch was underneath....aaaaack!

Anyway, we had a fun day today!
This is the best way to wear out Jimmy and Mommy!

There are some days that Jimmy needs to run! We picked up a cheap beach ball and headed for the park! It was cloudy and grey, but we didn't think anything of it since here in Hawaii, the majority of the time it rains like the produce misters in the grocery stores and lightening is a fairly rare occurrence, so no need to worry or bring umbrellas.(we should have!)
It was also windy, blowing the beach ball in unexpected directions, much to Jimmy's delight! The stills are not all that great, but I did get some video...Sorry for the Blair Witch-type shaking, but it's hard to keep the camera steady when it's windy and you're running around after a boy and a ball! Just Jimmy's squealing laughter and the fact that the camera we are currently using to take video has no capacity for sound to capture all that glee has convinced me we need a proper video camera...
Until then, enjoy the silent movies and you can do your own sound effects!

Jimmy had fun trying to kick the ball and grab it as it bounced off his belly!

This one reminds me of when they play croquet with flamingos in "Alice in Wonderland".

I also was able to take some pictures of the State Tree of Hawaii, the Rainbow Shower Tree. This tree blooms very very copiously with delicate flowers ranging from dark to light pink, oranges, and yellows to white, all on the same tree. The near constant breeze of the tradewinds gently blows the petals of in a constant "rainbow shower". It is quite beautiful to see or be in if you are under it at the time. Unfortunately, most people don't like to plant these beautiful trees on their own property because they make a huge mess, constantly dropping petals and leaves.

Here is a shot of the flowers of a rainbow shower tree.

And here is blossoms from another of the same type of tree, very unfortunately named the Golden Shower Tree. Don't stand under these, just in case...

Here is a whole tree, you can see how the blossoms hang in cluters cascading out of the tree.

Our weekend in Pictures

On Friday night, we dropped Jimmy off at a friends house and went out for our anniversary (early). At a nice dinner Jeff got me a rose and a gardenia lei. It smelled so good! Just like my wedding bouquet! After dinner, Jeff suprised me with tickets to that night's Micheal Buble concert! I wish I had brought my camera with me into the concert, from our seats in the second row I could have taken some really good shots! It was a really great concert!!

Saturday morning, the pirate woke us up early and we set sail for the North Shore to seek out a bounty of things to eat at the beach!

MMMMMM... Can you smell this Kiawe roasted chicken where you are? Too bad! It is wonderful!

We picked up some Malasadas and Jimmy snatched one right away!

Daddy took Jimmy in to get his first Shave Ice!

Yummy Strawberry Shave Ice!!!

Nothing better that chicken on the beach!
Oh Yeah!!

A perfect day at the beach! We were suprised it was not packed!!!

Sand+Bucket+Shovel=FUN!!!

A small dip in the water (way to cold for Jimmy today, so just a dip)

Get your slippahs, Daddy! It's time to go home!

And Jimmy went ZZZ, ZZZ, ZZZ all the way home!
