In the 2.5 seconds Mama wasn't looking

*SIGH* Poor Joey...

Good thing I keep the camera handy...

We wouldn't want to miss these *priceless* memories, or future blackmail fodder...

Curses! Foiled and Foiled again!

Both the boys foiled my attempts to keep them little this week!
Joey figured out how to stand himself up on this box.
See how proud of himself it is?

Jimmy foiled my attempts to take a nap. The wonky doors in this house don't close, so to keep him in his room for nap and bedtime we put a gate up. This worked really well for a long time. Until this week. He figured out to use the stool he has to climb into his big bed to climb over the gate.
Here is the escape route.

Now we just put the gate up higher, but not high enough he can squeeze under.

We got new books today that are great fun to read! I laughed so hard when I saw the expression on the cover of this one...

I also got a new bike this week.
Here is a rare picture of me and the back half of my new bike!
And Joey tucked away into the stroller.

Joey enjoyed the quick test trip we took but Mama needs to get into better shape if I'm going to be pulling a trailer!

Being such an old hand at bike strollers as he is, Jimmy helped us put Joey's together and get the flag just right. He's such an expert.

You'll have to go over to Mama's Getting Crafty to see other developments this week, but none of them involving the boys. Just Mama being crafty.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend and spring weather arrives soon!

Hooray for spring weather!

The weather this weekend was Beeeeee-autiful!
We took advantage of it and played outside! We pitched our tent!

We forgot to babyproof the thing because they kept getting in!

*I'm camping*

Both boys had a great time in the tent. We had a picnic lunch in there.

Then it was time to pack up and go for a family walk.

Nothing goes better with a family walk on a nice day than ice cream!

Jimmy discovered his shadow was stuck to his feet.

These crocuses had been picked and left on this wall. Kinda sad, actually, but I am happy to see crocuses!

We had big time fun all weekend.

And a yummy mac and cheese dinner before bed.

*I need a bath!*

Randomness

This post is to clean out the picture files and my cluttered mind...

A while back Jimmy and I had been fussing at each other all morning, so I sent him upstairs to play. He played for a while and then got very quiet. This is generally not a good thing, so I went up to check on him. This is what I found.

I love finding him like this. He has slept this way since he was so little I can barely remember.
Butt in the air, feet crossed underneath!

*I'm not asleep*

We have been going to the Y more lately. Joey had a leaky diaper while in the child care center and they changed his clothes. When I asked about it they told be what had happened and that the wet clothes were in a bag in the diaper bag, No problem, I thought until I pulled the bag out...

Seriously?!? infectious waste?

The other day I cleaned up and re-organized my spice shelves. This makes me very happy just to look at it, much like my embroidery floss!

I also have a bladder infection right now... so I ran to the store and picked up some cranberry juice.

I chose this one since I thought it was best... ooooh, no sugar added, great! No HFCS? Great!

But my infection hasn't cleared up and I have had the whole bottle and then some! Next time I will read the small print more carefully.
That's just not fair!

Camas was here this weekend and loaded up on her snuggling.

The boys snuggle quite willingly!

We went out for breakfast the day she left.

Can you see what lies beneath?

It's Jimmy! surprise!

We had a great weekend and hope you did, too!

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese new year a week late!
Come join our feast.
We had hum bao, shrimp, fried rice, potstickers, and a couple other chicken and beef dishes.
Yummy, Joey tried almost everything.

Jimmy tried eating with chopstick. It didn't work so well...

Joey cleaned his plate, kinda! and was ready for more! He especially liked the shrimp!

That weekend we packed up and went to a neighborhood Festival. It seemed like it was going to be big time fun with Lion Dancers, crafts, food and other fun things for all of us to do.
Jimmy perched to watch the parade.

Joey had a pretty good spot too!

Unfortunately the festival started off with these guys lighting off about 50 bazillion firecrackers. You can see the string lined up on the street here, about 15 feet long or so, as far as I could see.

Needless to say the boys don't like really noisy things, go figure since they usually ARE the really noisy things.

So we ducked into the nearest Mexican restaurant and had lunch.

Not noisy firecrackers in here, just noisy boys!

We discovered that Joey really will eat everything, from chips to refried beans,

to his brother's quesadilla! Yum yum yum.

Thought you should know...

We had a busy day yesterday and I have lots of pictures to upload, but the dishes and a quilt are both beckoning for my attention. Maybe tonight I will get them up!
Happy Chinese New Year to all you dirty rats out there!

By the way, I'm down another measly 1/2 pound this week, but I didn't update the ticker for just that.

Little Joey Two-tooth

Everyone is back to normal around here.
Happy boy is happy again!
Especially when he is eating!

He also has two new teeth! They came up within two days of each other.

*Show Mama your teeth, Joey* *No.*

*Please show Mama your teeth!* *Go away. I'm eating.*

*Let's see your shiny white teeth, Joey...* *Get the camera out of my face!*

*Show Mama your brand new teeth! Please?* *Um......no!*

Joey doesn't like to show off his teeth, especially when he's eating. His brother, on the other hand, has no such qualms.

OK, here are the teeth!

Pal's brother Bud is also done. You can read about him here.
